My hear, My soul

If darkness encircles,
I'll hold it close.
The destruction of my life won't stop me,
It can't.
I'll always have on thing to drive for.
One thing to keep me striving.
If one were to lend out a hand,
and a smile,
they can have it.
Everything that is important to me,
Everything that is me.
It is my heart.
My soul that I keep safe.
If I have this,
nothing can touch me.
No matter the cripple of sorrow.
If I keep this, nothing will change forever.
For when I receive a smile,
I'll still have the power to return it.
